Costs we cannot quote
Hotels, meals, attraction tickets and train fares vary by date, demand and how early you book, and we have no official source for typical amounts, so we do not print averages that could mislead you. Where to look instead:
- Accommodation: where to stay, by region and area.
- Trains: rail tickets explains advance fares and railcards.
- Attractions: book ahead for the places that sell out, and free things by region.
- Health: visitors pay 150% of the national NHS rate for hospital care in England, so price in travel insurance.[6]
