New Town 自 18 世纪后期起规划建设，是对拥挤的中世纪老城的乔治亚式扩建。宽阔的街道、广场和新月形街区，与 Old Town 共同构成联合国教科文组织世界遗产地。
Princes Street Gardens将两区分隔，National Gallery和Scott Monument位于New Town一侧。George Street、Charlotte Square和St Andrew Square汇集商店、餐厅、酒店和Georgian House。
