Two grounds joined by one stand: the cricket ground, home of Yorkshire and a Test venue since 1899, and the Leeds Rhinos' rugby stadium.
A mini guide to
Test cricket, the university, an Edwardian cinema and a Cistercian abbey
1 / 8Welcome to the area
North-west of the centre, Woodhouse Lane climbs past the University of Leeds and its Parkinson Building to Woodhouse Moor, Hyde Park and Headingley. Headingley Stadium, home of Yorkshire cricket and the Leeds Rhinos, sits behind the shops and pubs of Otley Road and North Lane.
Further out, in the Aire valley, the ruins of Kirkstall Abbey stand in a public park with Abbey House Museum across the road. Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills, between the canal and the river, is a short trip back towards the centre.
