George Square是格拉斯哥的主要市政广场，东侧是City Chambers。苏格兰最繁忙的车站Glasgow Central，以及开往爱丁堡和北部方向的终点站Queen Street，都在步行可达的范围内。Buchanan Street构成主要购物区的中段，Gallery of Modern Art所在的Royal Exchange Square则位于它与Queen Street之间。
Merchant City 是上世纪1980年代起用于称呼 George Square 以东街区的名称，区内有 Tron Theatre、St Andrew's in the Square，以及一批画廊和工作室。市中心以北的 Garnethill 和 Cowcaddens 集中了 Glasgow School of Art、Film Theatre、Theatre Royal、Royal Concert Hall 和多家音乐场所。
