A mini guide to

Royal Leamington Spa

A spa town of parks along the River Leam, the Royal Pump Rooms and the Parade

Welcome to the area

A spa town of parks along the River Leam, the Royal Pump Rooms and the Parade

Royal Leamington Spa began as the village of Leamington Priors and grew into a spa town after its waters became popular in the 18th century; in the 19th century it expanded very quickly. It takes its name from the River Leam and adjoins Warwick.

The Royal Pump Rooms on the Parade, once the town's spa baths, now hold the free Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum, the library and the visitor information centre. Jephson Gardens, the Pump Room Gardens, Mill Gardens and Victoria Park line the river, and the streets around the Parade, Regent Street and Livery Street are full of restaurants.
