A mini guide to
Former factories turned studios, music venues and street food, beside the new Eastside park
1 / 5Welcome to the area
Digbeth was part of the industrial heart of the City of a Thousand Trades, and its brick factories now hold studios, independent shops, bars and music venues. The Custard Factory occupies the works where Bird's Custard was made from 1902, and Birmingham Coach Station is on the main road.
To the north, Eastside has Millennium Point, home of the Thinktank science museum, and Eastside City Park, opened in 2012. The original Curzon Street station building stands nearby, and the Warwick Bar conservation area keeps canalside warehouses from the Industrial Revolution. Visit Birmingham puts Digbeth under ten minutes' walk from the Bullring.
