Game of Thrones in Northern Ireland
Much of Game of Thrones was filmed in Northern Ireland. The locations are real places in use today, from a working harbour to a National Trust estate, and they combine well with a trip along the Causeway Coast.

The official Studio Tour
The official Game of Thrones Studio Tour is at Linen Mill Studios in Banbridge, where the series was made; it is about 30 minutes from Belfast and 90 minutes from Dublin. [1] Book on the official site (opens in new tab). Our Belfast city centre guide covers where to stay.

Visiting with care
The Dark Hedges are beech trees on a country road, and heavy traffic has raised concern about damage to their shallow roots. [2] Walk rather than drive along the avenue, and use official parking. Ballintoy is a small harbour village; you can reach it on foot on our Causeway Coast Way walk from Ballintoy to Portballintrae.
