Cosa aspettarsi

  • Camping is an affordable way to stay outdoors; some sites also offer glamping or tipis, and static caravans can be spacious with kitchens and bathrooms.[1]
  • Unusual stays such as treehouses, converted windmills, narrowboats and shepherds’ huts tend to cost more than ordinary accommodation.[1]
  • In Scotland the Outdoor Access Code allows lightweight camping in small numbers for two or three nights in one place, leaving no trace. Seasonal byelaws in parts of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park limit camping to campsites or permit holders.[2]

Before you book

  • The Scottish Outdoor Access Code applies in Scotland only: elsewhere, check the landowner’s or national park’s rules before you pitch.
  • Book pitches early for school holidays.
