Rail discounts for 16 to 25s, free museums and galleries checked on their own sites, and walkable areas.

Facts last checked 25 Oct 2026. Britlens is independent: see our editorial policy.

What matters for this trip

  • The 16-25 Railcard page says anyone aged 16 to 25, plus mature students aged 26+ in full-time education in Great Britain, gets one third off train tickets. It showed £35 for one year and £80 for three on 25 Oct 2026, with a £12 minimum fare before 10am Monday to Friday (not on Advance tickets, public holidays, July and August or weekends).1
  • Free means free general admission as the venue's own site says; we count only places we checked. We list no hostel or food prices because we hold no sourced price data.

Free museums and galleries we have checked, by destination

From our free-entry guide, checked against each venue's own website.

Walkable areas: many sights close together

Sights listed per square kilometre in our data (minimum 8 sights).
