Free things to do in Cornwall

3 places in Cornwall whose own website says entry is free. Checked 1 Nov 2026.

Facts last checked 25 Oct 2026. Britlens is independent: see our editorial policy.

Places listed on this page.

Free means general admission. Special exhibitions and events can be ticketed, some places ask you to book a free slot, and some suggest a donation. Check the venue before you go.

Every entry below is a ancient village, art gallery and castle in our Cornwall guide whose own website said, when we read it, that entry is free. We quote what the page said, link the page, and do not give opening hours, because they change. If a venue's page changes, we remove it at the next check.

Free museums, galleries and sites

Free self-guided walks

Following a walk costs nothing, though places you pass may charge. Each walk page has a map, the route, stops and a GPX file.

Getting around Cornwall for less

Local transport: Transport for Cornwall. Transport for Cornwall lists adult, child (5 to 15 and 16 to 18) and young person (19 to 25) day tickets valid until the end of service (02:59) on the day of activation, multi-day tickets, Truro Park and Ride bundles, and family and group day tickets. Child and young person tickets need verification before use, which it says can take up to 48 hours. Tickets are bought in the Transport for Cornwall app.

Fares and tickets: Transport for Cornwall tickets (opens in new tab). Our getting around guide compares every destination.
