1 / 3Welcome to the area
West of the River Taff, Pontcanna is a leafy district of independent restaurants and cafés, with Pontcanna Fields and Sophia Gardens along the river; Visit Cardiff puts it 10 to 15 minutes' walk from the centre. Canton, to the south, has Chapter Arts Centre, Victoria Park and the shops of Cowbridge Road East.
Further north, Llandaff is a cathedral village with the ruins of the Bishop's Palace and the Victorian mansion of Insole Court; Visit Cardiff says it is 45 to 60 minutes on foot from the centre. St Fagans National Museum of History and Castell Coch, on the edge of the city, are best reached by bus, train or car.
