Welcome to the area

An Elizabethan hall in a deer park, a university campus and its lakeside park

Wollaton Hall is an Elizabethan house of the 1580s on a hill in a 500-acre park about 4 km west of the city centre. It houses Nottingham's Natural History Museum, the stable block holds the volunteer-run Industrial Museum, and two herds of deer, red and fallow, live in the park.

South-east of the park, the University of Nottingham's University Park campus adjoins Highfields Park and its boating lake, where Lakeside Arts has a theatre and café. The Jubilee Campus, with the 60 m Aspire sculpture, and the remains of Lenton Priory are a short way towards the city.
