Soho or Covent Garden?

Which side should you pick?

Covent Garden

Slightly calmer at night, with side streets that quieten once the shows end. A good choice if you want theatres, the Royal Opera House and the piazza close by.

Soho

Livelier and louder, with bars and restaurants open late. A good choice for nightlife, music and food, but ask for a quieter room if you are a light sleeper.

Leicester Square & Strand

Handy for transport and shorter walks to many theatres. Busier and more commercial, but very convenient for short stays.

  • Book early for dates that coincide with big shows, Christmas and major events
  • Ask for an upper-floor or courtyard-facing room to reduce street noise
  • Check whether breakfast, luggage storage and late check-in are included
  • Consider a hotel one Tube stop away if you prefer quiet evenings
